Take Brady out of the equation and add Joey Vendetta and we have the worst morning show on the Fan590. Awful stuff….Lang and Farwell cannot carry this either.
Glad they dont have vendetta filling in for Blair anymore.
JP Arencibia took some major shots at Zaun and Hayhurst on 590 this morning…………..he said that Zaun only stayed in the major leagues because of performance enhancing drugs and he said that Hayhurst never stayed in the majors for long because he had poor baseball skills
It’s not common for the people at 1050 to talk about an interview that happened on 590 but when Simmons was on at 9:30 today they talked about the Arencibia comments
I like Hayhurst as an analyst but I also love JP’s comments. You can’t dispute them.
Jerry Howorth said on 590 that Zaun and Hayhurst could do a better job of being around the Jays clubhouse so that the players have a chance to respond to their criticism
Notwithstanding the fact that you don’t need to be a good player to be a good analyst of the game, if you are going to go that route it’s probably best that you didn’t have a 0.1 WAR for the first half of the year.
Ive always heard reporters say that if you show up to hear the reaction from people you criticize, they will at least give writers some respect.
I think that applies more for beat writers, though, and not tv analysts. Writers cover stories (such as they are) and analysts like Zaun and Hayhurst are paid to give an opinion. I don’t believe they are obligated to hang out in the clubhouse. I could be wrong.
