Today on Sportsline:
NJ Devils sniper Ilya Kovalchuk announces his retirement from the NHL at 30 years old, why? Has the abilities and popularity of Munenori Kawasaki made the rest of the Blue Jays utility infielder expendable? With allegations of match fixing arising at soccer’s Gold Cup, we wonder are North American sports corrupt? Join Hebsy & Bubbs today at 5 on CHCH.
Bwahaha:
Bob McCown @FadooBobcat
@Pearlofwisdom2 Like Kovalchuk, I too retired at age 30. (I just didn’t tell anyone!)
Why would The Fan be broadcasting Bisons baseball vs having talk radio? I wonder if it has to do with the lacklustre performance of the Jays and not wanting too many negative fan comments? Would they have more Jays talk if they were winning?
Arent they only doing it when the Jays play day games?
Might not be that much of ratings drop from generic show hosted by Rob Wong or Sid’s brother or Sammett.
Yeah, from what I understand it’s only when the Jays play day games. And you’re right – it might not be much of a ratings drop … the Bisons don’t really interest me so my preference would be the generic talk.
It makes sense when younthink of all the Jays who have been on rehab, people might want to listen to check on Reyes or Lawrie etc and now maybe Kawasaki when he is sent down.
When has Reyes played in Buffalo?
Reyes played 4 games for the Buffalo Bisons on a rehab stint in late June
