I’m really loving TSNR right now their daily line up has really improved a lot over the last year. If they can find a way to get Melnick every week that would be amazing. Love Dave Nailor so maybe they have the Reports become a full time show hosted by Nailor and Melnick the full time drive home host

Mitch Melnick is awesome. Great sports knowledge and delivery. More enjoyable then the snorefest on Sporsnet 590 The Fan with Friedman and Cox.

I too have been enjoying Melnick this week on 1050……………it has been a nice treat considering we are in the summer dog days of Toronto sports radio………………..I used to listen to him 20 years ago when I lived in Montreal and he sounds just as good now

Most enjoyable week of sports radio for me with Melnick in the driver’s seat since McCown in his heyday when he actually gave a crap, and had a motivated Brunt/Arthur by his side, and NO FOB’s.

Cox was seriously trolling the roundtable. That whole “YOU CAN’T SAY THAT THEY HAVE A BRIGHT FUTURE BECAUSE EVERYBODY COULD GET INJURED AND/OR SUCK” is hilarious. You can’t even make educated guesses about the future, ever. Unless you’re Damien Cox, because he said the same thing about Eugenie Bouchard, and I’m glad that Elliotte Friedman noticed it.

I think I realized one of the reasons I don’t enjoy listening to Friedman: he doesn’t finish his sentences. He’s always stopping in the middle of a word, and starting a new sentence because while he’s talking he thinks of a way to explain or elaborate on a thought he hasn’t finished expressing, and it ends up being hard to listen to for me. He had 3 sentences inside one sentence at one point.

Toronto finally got to listen – if they were smart – to Melnick for a week. As I’ve been saying for years, industry leaders in our town must have a blind spot for Montrealers. What he did last week was only a small sample of what his daily show is like. Add some seriously good music, snippets of satire and a much looser environment and you have quality radio that nobody else in the country is doing. Radio from the commercial heyday of radio.
