Are Jose Bautista’s occasional outbursts with umpires acts of selfishness? Are injuries a good enough reason to explain the Ticats 1-4 start to the season? This plus the Hebsy’s today at 5, on CHCH!

I doubt it. I thought it was unprofessional of Mahan and a slap in the face to the Canadian Open which now looks like a joke that even the players don’t care about.

Shame on him for wanting to be there for the birth of his child. What a jerk!

had some time to listen to more podcasts than usual last week. a few notes:
    .

    On TSN:
    .

    – Melnik is really good. Smooth, unaffected, and intelligent. The choice between SN and TSN is now really coming down to shtick v. non-shtick. I wonder if TSN could find a way to have Naylor and Melnik each host their own show from 4-6 but team up for a simulcast 3rd hour.

    – TSN has some guy from a Hamilton paper named Steve Milton on. I’ve never heard of him, but his radio persona is not very likable. He sounds smug and he talks over everyone. The co-hosts on that show are excellent …. he is not.
    .

    On the Fan:
    .

    – whoever hosted PTS last week (didn’t catch the name) was horrible. Completely out of his league on that show.

    – Friedman is improving. Someone seems to have passed on the feedback from the commenters here: 1) stop trying to be funny, 2) stop talking about yourself. Still a long long way to go, but he’s not as hopeless as he seemed the last time he hosted.

    – I have been Shannon free for ages now, but I tried to listen to an interview with Becker, whom I quite like as a guest. Couldn’t make it past a few questions … the show-wrecker strikes again!
