Admittedly, i cant watch TSN, but do they really need Bobo amd Drager on every single day?

Tangentially, they said that mcKenzie has the most twitter followers in all of Canadian media.

I tried to think who could have more: grapes, strombo, mansbridge, hodge and none do.

Any ideas who might challenge Bob’s number?

Darren Dreger has almost 460, 000 followers, which is also more than Cherry and the others. Only he has a chance to catch Bob. I don’t know which one is growing faster, but Bob’s account is still growing impressively. I remember he had about 500,000 when the lockout ended.

According to the Globe and others, the leading contender to be the next Rogers CEO is Guy Laurence. He has an interesting take on offices and meeting rooms.

The brilliant Jason Devos loses a pint of blood, shrugs it off and gives the thumbs up. If this was Gerry Dobson or Craig Forrest, you may have had to call someone to perform last rites.

The next Rogers CEO cut the Vodafone UK workforce by 25%, from 9,500 to 7,150. This blunt talking Brit from Manchester might not want to joke around with Bob like Nadir Mohammed or the 2 Things (if these two still have a job with Rogers). Bares an eerie resemblance to Tony Soprano. I’m suddenly feeling nervous for TSN.

And his favourite book is Body and Soul by Anita Roddick?? Not “The Whitsun Weddings”, The Selected Poems of the Earl of Rochester or any Waugh or Hardy? Not even “Fever Pitch” or “The Rachel Papers” Is he really English? Who is this illiterate maniac who’s going to kill TSN?

thanks for the links Nan — you’ve been all over this story. Maybe see if you can post a write-up here on the Rogers CEO situation and what it might mean for the media side?

DAVE — I wonder how long until Bob is ordered to play nice with GB. It can’t be good for Rogers to have such a high profile guest consistently appear with the competition.

No one cares when Wilner is banned from PTS … that’s a benefit to the audience. But, as a listener, I am made worse off by being denied the opportunity to hear GB on with Brunt.

Overall Sportsnet ratings are up 21%, even though Blue Jays games have flatlined vs last season.

Sure, Bob has been less then nice to GB, but unless it was all just posturing, at the beginning of the show Bob publicly invited Gary to come on, said they’d bounce the other guests to fit him in, can’t remember what specifically their tiff is about but suggested they let bygones be bygones and move on, etc.
If he wanted to continue to be a jerk, he could have said “Oh great, the Count is here… over my bleeping dead body is he coming on this show”, or whatever.
He had Walsh ask Gary to come on, he blew them off.
At this point what is he supposed to do? get down on bended knee and beg? perhaps they could televise it?

New Rogers CEO Guy Laurence hears Sid doing the baby voice and hashtags:
