Man, TSN Drive’s lineups continually suck. Who produces that show?

It’s a good thing (although debatable) can write because if he were to rely solely on his speaking skills he would be out of work. It really is uncomfortable trying to listen to what he is trying so hard to say.

    Sorry, I meant Michael Grange.

    I like Grange.

When Friedman fills in for McCown as host on PTS like he did today I have no idea if he gets a flat fee for each show or if it’s a more complicated arrangement than that……………if he gets paid a flat fee for the three hour show does anybody have an educated guess on how much he might get?…………not trying to be nosy, I’m just curious

TSN Drive is produced by Mike Gentile. He was the producer of the Jay and Dan Podcast and Prime Time Sports when it was better. With Naylor and Co. this cultured producer has brought intelligence to afternoon drive sports talk in Toronto.

Toronto’s “crack mayor” (that’s how he’s being billed) is getting a weekly spot on a Washington D.C. sports radio show, where he’ll give his NFL picks.

Does he still do this on TSN?

“With Naylor and Co. this cultured producer has brought intelligence to afternoon drive sports talk in Toronto.”

Um…that doesn’t really answer the original post from Jimmy, Nan. If he’s such a wonderful producer, why do the guests on TSNR afternoon drive show continually suck? The line up above screams “don’t listen today, its the same shit as yesterday”, or “Did you miss Dreger being his usual arrogant pompous ass self today just after 6PM? Don’t worry, he’ll be back tomorrow at the exact same time to do it again!”

If Gentile actually books this show on a daily basis, he’s stealing money from TSNR.

Chris I seriously LOL’d @ that silly comment as well.

I’m with Chris. TSN could be working a lot harder at booking non-TSN guests. I would start with their ESPN affiliation.

This might require them to devote slightly less air-time to hockey though …

Just wondering, does Damien Cox have to be a first class asshole 24/7 or do you think it is simply part of the ‘role’ he try’s to play on TV? Either way he does it very well.

Naylor’s guests don’t suck. Don’t like McKenzie and Dreger? OK “hockey fans”. If you want talk about chickens or palm trees in the backyard or what Neil Smith is having for dinner, stick to PTS exclusively. Not everyone agrees which is why PTS ratings have been tanking like they’re trying for Wiggins.

I did enjoy Bob saying Don Cherry would be too scared to take him on if he went on HNIC. Actually if Bob and Don went at it there would be nothing left of Bob but a couple of hair extensions, a pair of broken sunglasses and maybe a molar or two.

And isn’t it time for Bob to do his annual Christmas charity shtick to boost ratings?

Sportsnet has good coverage on the World Cup Draw on Friday. They are showing it live from 11-12:30pm with a half hour pregame show and a one hour post game show.

Here’s a terrific article by KJ to get you ready for Friday’s Draw:

This is pretty hilarious for a number of reasons.

    1. Naylor’s guests, for the most part, do indeed suck.

    2. I like McKenzie quite a bit. Probably the number 1 hockey guy in the country. Dreger, isn’t for everyone, I happen to think he’s a douche. What I think of the guy doesn’t matter, though. Having them both on, at the same times EVERY SINGLE DAY is lazy radio. That rests on the “cultured producer” you speak so highly of.

    3. I’m a sports fan, not a Hockey fan. When guests on PTS talk about what they had for supper, or their vacations, I and others here, smash the shit out of them, and deservedly so.

    4. Saying PTS ratings are tanking is fairly misleading. Even if they drop 3 points, TSN still isn’t even a bug on their ass. The ratings system is antiquated anyway.

Like most here, I’d love to see both stations doing good sports radio. Having choice is better for the consumer. TSN is doing a shitty job of delivering good content, and they deserve to be criticized for it. As MIB pointed out. They have an affiliation with ESPN that should allow them to access hundreds of good interesting guests, and yet, they refuse to use it.

But none of those one hundred cover hockey, so they can’t book anyone.
