So on a day where TFC without a doubt dominated the news, Bob Mccown spends 0 time on the local news item of the day? He preaches they don’t screen calls; they’re trying to tell me that nobody in the city of Toronto called to talk about the grandest story of the day? Followed by no guests or discussion about this topic for the next two hours?
If Rogers is looking to reach a younger, more diverse audience, they’re failing by beating a dead horse discussion about PEDs, Baseball HOF ballots, and A-Rod… in January! Day-after-day.
I checked out Dave Naylor’s podcast and it provided some good discussion by a couple of guys who aren’t soccer experts but understand the sporting landscape in Toronto and understand it was a big day in that landscape and the audience wanted to hear it.
Rogers, Mccown, PTS- FAIL! This is a pretty pathetic joke from the “most listened to sports radio show” in the city.
Rob, I agree completely with you. It was a joke not to have anything about what TFC did today. Not to mention the roundtable last week which was terrible, I understand where soccer stands in the media here but that segment was embarrassing for supposed professional broadcasters.
Thank You! Good to know that I’m not in the minority here!
Have not heard the podcast yet, but it sounds like Leiweke was supposed to be on but blew it off; and Bob threatened with the “little black book”
from Ryan Walsh @LegendOfZombo
thanks for the support… Yeah, we weren’t happy today! Tim will be in studio next week.
I heard the 5 o’clock hour. Leiweke was a no-show 5:15. Bob was not pleased and was, to say the least, non-committal about having him on in the future. Of course, the very same Tim Leiweke was on Tim and Sid four hours earlier.
And leiwecke was on naylor’s show. Weird he skipped pts, since mlse guests ususally do both shows the same day.
