Nice to see good guy Jim Lang has re-surfaced at 105.9 Markham spinning tunes from 6-10 AM after getting shafted from fan/590
Tried to listen to the PTS Friday roundtable (was listening to it this morning, via podcast)…had to turn it off after 30-40 minutes. Was enthused about Brunt being back, but then heard McCown introduce Shannon, and immediately got annoyed. They took what should have been a 5 minute chat about women coaching men’s sports and turned it into a 20-minute segment; spent a bit of time talking about the Leafs; and then spent the remaining 20 mins of the first hour talking (surprise, surprise) about the Jays.
Listening to Shannon’s ‘insightful’ commentary on Randy Carlyle’s coaching abilities was just too much.
It’s unfortunate, ironically, that the PTS ratings haven’t been that hard hit yet. Perhaps, when they start to suffer in comparison to Naylor, management will finally put the hammer down on the FOB on PTS.
I have to agree with you Ron.
Quite disappointing Round Table which has been the common theme lately. How do they get off spending 70% of the show talking baseball in January when TFC makes international news, Raptors (at the time) were red hot, and the Leafs, well they’re the Leafs. There was an appetite for some good Toronto sports discussion but of course, they decide to try to push their baseball brand on their audience.
I’m running short on patience with what should be a higher quality show. TSN should counter the Round Table with their Reporters show… I would even take Simmons at this point after the garbage Sportsnet has been feeding us lately.
